Significant Tree 204: Pecan Tree, Coromandel Valley

Botanical name: Carya illinoinensis (syn. C. illinoensis)
Common name: Pecan Tree
The Pecan Tree is an uncommon tree in South Australia, and this one was believed to have been planted by George Summers in 1899 who was orchardist in the district at the time. The tree is a beautiful specimen with outstanding dimensions and adds greatly to the park setting.
Nominated to the Trust's Register of Significant Trees as an outstanding specimen of this type of tree.
Location and Access:
The tree is located in the centre of a three acre orchard park on Sandow Crescent in Coromandel Valley. The park is open and access is available at all times.
