Discovering Coromandel Connections

An introduction by Keith Conlon will start this day of reminiscing and renewing friendships. An enthusiastic supporter of Coro Alive! 175, Keith is well known for his ability to bring our State's history to life and he is looking forward to meeting and mingling with people who have connections – past or present – to Coromandel Valley.

This will be a great occasion to have a cuppa and a chat about good times in the Valley. Look over old photos and memorabilia from the collection of the Coromandel Valley and District National Trust that is not often displayed.

An intriguing range of information will be available on the day and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the National Trust's records of the Coromandel Valley community and its connections.

  • Author Alexandra Kelly will tell the story Raising the Coromandel, the product of 10 years of extensive research. This is a story of the ship and its people, both fact and probability
  • Explore a digital database detailing land development within Coromandel Valley: covering both the Mitcham and Onkaparinga portions and with a very useful search function to assist with family history and development research.
  • Learn about the National Trust's formal records system including for items in its collection of historic artefacts.
  • Learn about the "Oldest Buildings" in Coromandel Valley.

Various informative presentations will be repeated across afternoon and evening time slots.
