Beaumont House

The house has a distinctive Mediterranean character with an open brickwork parapet in soft terracotta colours and a central flat roof originally accessed by a staircase. History
Beaumont House built in 1849, was home of the first Anglican Bishop of Adelaide, Bishop Augustus Short, and later Sir Samuel Davenport, politician, horticulturist and founder of the olive oil industry in SA. The Burnside Branch of the National Trust of SA, which was formed in October 2005 is located at Beaumont House.
Beaumont House is now the State Office of the National Trust of South Australia.
The office opening times are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (inclusive)

Beaumont House Working Bees
It is a continuing task but we still need help to present the house and garden all year round at its very best for function hire. Working bees are held on the second Sunday of the month from 1 pm - 5 pm but please check with Chris Hughes 8379 4048 and to advise that you are attending (for catering purposes and tasks).

Hire
The house and grounds are available at reasonable rates for garden wedding ceremonies, garden photos, anniversary and birthday celebrations, dinners and parties. There is also a platform area available for a marquee. However no amplified music allowed and a curfew of 11.30pm exists (residential area).Enquiries and bookings please contact Theo Ellenbroek 8353 4556.

Branch
Are you affiliated to a branch? By becoming affiliated to the Burnside Branch you will receive our ‘Burnside Branch News’ issued 3-4 times a year; be able to attend member functions 3-4 times a year; assist in the care of this historic house and property and elect the Committee at the branch AGM. Another benefit is that the ‘branch entitlement’ which currently represents a third of your annual membership fee comes to our branch. If you would like to affiliate to the Burnside Branch please contact the Secretary, Chris Perriam 8362 3036. There is no ‘extra’ cost involved and you would be helping the branch.
