Glencoe Woolshed

The shearing/wool shed is unique as it was never converted to mechanised shearing and it is set up as a museum of original and historic blade shearing and wool handling processes. The shed remains a testament to the craftsmen of the day, often being referred to as a "cathedral", with arched blackwood beams and an architectural style rarely seen in this type of building.
Artefacts of the wool industry are on display.
History
The Woolshed was built in 1863 for brothers Robert and Edward Leake, who bought Saxon merino sheep to South Australia. It is an example of the working fabric of large parcel land holdings of early settlement.
