Olivewood

This 1880s wooden-floored house is furnished to the period of when it was built. The property remains a working orangery and the orchard is fully operational, including its famous olive trees.
The collection includes old photographs, cameras, river charts, the Chaffey Red Book (The Australian Irrigation Colonies, Illustrated), plus equipment used in the fruit industry.
History
Originally designed as a Canadian log cabin for the Chaffey brothers from Canada, who established the irrigation and fruit growing area of Renmark. The estate was presented as a showpiece to induce others to join the scheme.
