Rocky Bend Reserve
A small reserve of native scrub and shrubland in a highly cleared area. A significant island of native plants and animals. One of the larger remnants in Central and Northern York Peninsula, and thus an important scientific and historical reference site. A 3.5 ha wedge shaped strip of mallee scrub which in conjunct with adjacent roadside vegetation forms a significant island of native vegetation, important for the preservation of both animal and plant species.
Area formerly set aside as a stone reserve. Contains several mallee Eucalypts, sclerophyllous shrubs, Acacias and native orchids with a good lichen crust covering otherwise bare ground. There are some exotic plants, spread as a result of rubbush dumping and the activities of birds.
